For dynamic sealing, high vacuum, aerospace or more stringent industrial applications, edge welded bellows provide highest flexibility over all other bellows technology.
With a greater variety of metallurgical options available, edge-welded metal bellows can also withstand exposure to extremes in liquid and gas media and temperatures.
Our company operates a fully equipped in-house manufacturing facility, allowing us to maintain complete control over the production process from start to finish ensuring quality, rapid innovation and ability to quickly adapt to the customer needs.
Stamping
Male and female diaphragms are stamped out from sheet metal stock. In-house facility of tool development & stamping ensures consistent quality of diaphragms.
Cleaning
Diaphragms are cleaned ultrasonically to remove surface contaminants followed by pickling treatment to remove surface oxides. Pickling methodology is adopted based on the diaphragm materials.
End parts machining
End parts are manufactured in our comprehensive machining shop equipped with lathe, CNC, VMC, drilling, milling & griding machines.
Welding
Diaphragms are clamped on automized fixtures and welded using Micro-Tig and Micro-Plasma welding machines.
Helium Leak Testing
All bellow units are tested for leakage on a helium mass spectrometer by sample under vacuum method. The inside of the bellow unit is evacuated by placing it on the leak detector test port. A helium sniffer probe is then used for detecting the weld defects. Bellows supplied with end parts are re-tested for leakage after final welding.
Heat treatment
The final heat treatment required is dictated by the material. Best strength in the bellows are usually obtained by going through complete solution annealing followed by aging treatment. Our in-house programmable heat treatment facility enables us to optimize the heat treatment cycle with precise control over temperature and environment.
Load Testing
Bellows used in applications requiring precise face loading are tested to ensure that the spring rate requirements of customers are met.
